In summer 2013 I started my first job as Junior Graphic Designer at Aeria Games, a publisher of free to play PC and mobile games. Back then the company had approximately 100 employees in the Berlin office and we 3 designers were part of the marketing team. Situated at the Schlesisches Tor and with the view on the river the office itself was pretty nice and they offered some modern “nice to haves” like free massages, language courses and meditation sessions.
The first game I came to help on creating marketing assets for was Scarlet Blade. Other titles we worked on during that time were Aura Kingdom, Grand Fantasia, Eden Eternal, Immortalis, WolfTeam, A.V.A and Shaiya. Working together with the marketing team and for different territories was a whole new experience for me. We created marketing assets like banner sets, site skins, newsletters and landing pages for their campaigns. Meanwhile Clotilde Drivet was the perfect person to manage me as our characters were complementing each other and she taught me how to maintain my eye for the details while still working in a time reducing manner to keep inside our due dates.
